Textile Flag and Sail Banner FAQ's:

Please find Sail Banner and Feather Flag FAQ's listed below. For more general FAQ's please see the General FAQ's page.

1. Should I have a textile or PVC banner?
Textile banners are ideal for party, wedding, campaign & protest and of course for corporate and custom flags. PVC banners are ideal for long continuous outdoor use.

2. Will my textile flag or banner be printed on both sides?
We digitally print to one side of the polyester cloth. The ink spreads to the back producing a mirror image on the reverse. With our heavy flag knit material there is good ink density and distribution of the ink on both sides of the cloth. Pale colours do not give such an equal appearance on both sides however when daylight and sunlight pass through the cloth the difference is negated. Our Satin polyester banner cloth retains more ink on the "A" side and therefore gives a stronger initial apperance but this is at the expence of ink density on the "B" side hence the term "banner"
For PVC Banners double sided printing is available.

3. Will my Flag or Banner come with eyelets?
We can finish the item in any way you wish. Pole pockets, hemmed, bound, rope and toggle, eyelets, loopsor tags.

4. Can I have a 'true' double sided Textile Flag or Sail Banner?
We prefer not to sew two flags "back to back" as they fly like a duvet cover and are too heavy in wet and windy conditions.. There is also a certain amount of unwanted 'show through' creating a confused image on both sides. It is better to have a "handed pair" of flags creating an "A" side in two deirections. See these Feather Flags.

5. How would you like the artwork to be sent?
Send it in the best form you have. We prefer Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or Coral Draw as an '.ai' or '.eps/.pdf' or '.cdr'. But a good quality .jpg will do just as well.

6. How can I check the quality of a .jpg or other bitmap file?
Enlarge the image dramatically and see how it appears. Remember that most of the time, the final print will be much larger than you see it on screen, so for it to be a good quality image on the final banner, it must start as a good quality image at a greatly enlarged size. It should be not less than 150 dots per inch in its original form.

7. What resolution is best for a bitmap image (jpg)?
Our Textile Flags and Banners are printed at 360 x 540 dots per inch and suggest an absolute minimum of 150 dots per inch (dpi) at full size for your image. 'Full size' is the size that the image will appear on the final flag or banner. To see how it looks try dramaitcally enlarging the image so that you are seeing only a quarter of it on your scree
